20 Power Tips

1) Write down your goals. They're your road map to success. Be specific and refer to them every day.

2) Commitment is the key to attaining your goals. Commit yourself to enrolling five first-level leaders within two weeks of starting your MLM business. Commit yourself to enrolling a minimum of two new Distributors per week for the next year. Teach your marketing team to duplicate your efforts.

3) Ask yourself "Why am I in MLM?" The answers will help you define your goals.

4) Ask yourself "What do I want to achieve from my MLM business?" How fast do I want to achieve it? Be specific and write it down.

5) Develop a marketing strategy that fits your personality. Consider all the techniques of lead generation…on-line advertising, off-line advertising, trade/consumer shows, fairs, fund raising, etc. Whatever method you choose, do it consistently. Persistence pays. Never go to bed at night without taking a minimum of five active steps to promote your business.

6) Always assume that a person WILL BE INTERESTED. To do otherwise will end up costing you a fortune. Remember that everyone is a viable prospect…for the retail product or the business opportunity, or both.

7) Be prepared to present the MLM product or business opportunity to anyone at anytime. Always have promotional materials close at hand. Make sure that you have a minimum of three complete sets of literature in your briefcase, your purse, in your car, at your desk at work.

8) Be a "Marketing / Sales Sponge". Soak up everything you can find on the subject of marketing, sales, promotions, and publicity... both off-line and on-line. Try to read at least one new marketing book every two weeks.

9) Emulate your successful upline leaders. Do what the successful leaders are doing. Remember that you have the same resources that the most successful upline heavy-hitter has. Be savvy enough to recognize that "you" are the one and only person responsible for your own success or failure.

10) Find out what advertising techniques and sources have been successful for others and duplicate their methods.

11) Learn how to explain the compensation plan... keep it simple… because it IS simple. But... don't waste a lot of time getting bogged down with minutia (details). Relate the compensation to the prospect's personal goals.

12) Don't take the word "NO" personally. They are not rejecting you as a person; they are rejecting the proposal that you have made. All they are really saying is "You haven't told me enough yet."

13) Follow Up! FOLLOW UP! Follow-up is more responsible for your success than any other element of your marketing system.

14) Let your computer (if you have one…if you don't have one, do yourself a favor and get one) organize your business. Organize your contacts, your follow-up schedule, everything about running your business. It will save you huge amounts of time, increase your productivity and help make you a fortune quickly. Use top-quality contact manager software. You'll be able to do twice the work in half the time.

15) Realize that your home-based business can give you some serious Tax Advantages. Consult your tax professional about the dozens of things that are now tax deductible. Your MLM business is a tax benefit!

16) Maintain the highest level of business and personal ethics. Credibility and believability are built upon a foundation of high-level ethics.

17) Realize that this is a BUSINESS. Run it like you would run any other successful business, with skill, attention to detail, aggressive marketing, and honesty.

18) Stay FOCUSED! Put the blinders on and stay focused on building your MLM business as fast as possible. Remember that the only people who loose at network marketing are those who quit!

19) To manage growth, manage Activity Levels. Set daily goals and benchmarks. Work your business daily! Teach your marketing team to do the same. Meet your daily goals and your monthly and annual goals will take care of themselves automatically.

20) YOU are the only person who can keep you from succeeding with MLM.

The 5 Types of Network Marketing Recruiters in MLM

The following is part of a series from Network Marketing Advice:

It is amazing.

Every where I have the honor of speaking, I see over and over the 5 types of recruiters in MLM, and they all remind me of animals. (smile)

Animals have a particular way of creating in their habitat what they need to survive and live on, and to become what nature meant for them to be. You may even see yourself in one of these Recruiting Animals that run rampant in MLM.

There are 5 Types of recruiters in MLM and Network Marketing:

1) "The Snake"

This is the type of recruiter that deceives and takes advantage of folks and is a cancer to this great industry.

This recruiter has one focus: To TAKE and do whatever it takes to recruit you, including unethical things and practices.

Why?

Who knows, but they are out there, and it is a shame. A snake slithers around the ground silently and looks for prey.

Sound familiar? Know anyone like that?

If you do, stay away from them as they are bad news.

2) "The Hyena"

This is the person who simply cannot shut up during a recruiting meeting or call. They are focused on themselves and talk about themselves and like a hyena, run their mouths and laugh a lot all in the name of "look at me, and what I have done."

Give me a break.

INFERNO Secret:

People come into this MLM business for THEIR reasons, not yours.

Keep the conversation focused on them and not you. Don't be like a hyena and dominate the meeting. Don't be like a hyena and look foolish to the prospect. Don't be like a hyena and constantly be engaged in bringing attention to you.

Keep your attention on them, and you will have a much better chance of recruiting someone.

3) "The Cow"

The Cow is the "Lay around all day and do nothing and chew on CUD" Recruiter.

These folks are the less-than ambitious people who wander around in MLM and chew on "Failure Grass" and it ends up CUD.

Cows chew CUD daily. What does "CUD" stand for?

"Consistently Unproductive Daily."

That's what Cows do. They do nothing and get nothing in this business.

Brutal?

Yes.

The Truth?

Absolutely!

Are you a Cow in recruiting? Do you MOOOOO? (As instead of working, you end up watching MOOOOvies?)

That is called a CLUE! GET BUSY and quit chewing Failure Grass and CUD! Success Grass tastes 1000 times better!

4) "The Beaver"

These are the folks that are teachable, and are eager to work and are excited about the business. They have a great work ethic, and a great mental focus, and they are into one thing:

BUILDING.

They are into Network marketing to BUILD and build more.

They like to build DAMS.

DAMS are what create success in MLM.

The DAM of Belief.

The DAM of Action.

The DAM of Results.

The DAM of Consistency.

The DAM of Prospects.

You know what DAM stands for?

"Doing All Methodically."

And that is what they do. ALL. Everything. Whatever it takes, and they do it Methodically, step by step, daily, and never give up. They prospect, contact, present, follow up, get the decision, and train DAILY!

Until they have built a DAM and reservoir of SUCCESS!

5) "The Eagle"

The Eagle is a recruiter that is in a class all by themselves.

They soar above the crowd when it comes to recruiting, and they are sharp and focused in their efforts. They are totally professional, and have great Leadership skills. They are sharp in many ways and have great communication and building skills.

They recruit from a "what is best for you, not best for me" standpoint, and always puts the prospect first and foremost.

The eagle knows whom they want to recruit, and doesn't bother with anybody else.

Eagles look for other Eagles, or those who aspire to be.

Eagles search out for the BEST in people, and then when they find it, they know they have something to build on, and to recruit.

Eagles are head and shoulders above most in recruiting in their actions, consistency, attitudes, and work ethic.

OK....

Where are you in the 5 Types of recruiters?

I hope and pray at least the Beaver.

INFERNO Secret:

Many a Beaver has grown and evolved into an Eagle over time.

Where are you evolving?

Your answer has just painted a picture of your recruiting destiny in the Network Marketing and MLM industry.
